Would you like fries with that tan ???
Has anyone else noticed that in Gordon Park the Beauty shops have Food type names and the Foodie places have - other names ??
Melt - Hair and Beauty - Khartoum and Cowper Streets -
Cocoa and Cream - A Tanning Salon - Corner of Richmond Street and Stafford Road
And then there are the coffee and food places:
Silky Oak Espresso - a hole in the wall on the corner of Richmond Street and Stafford Road
The "walking Macaroon" - Marche du Macaron - on Thistle Street
And the saucily named - Mistress of Spice - further along Thistle Street
Owners who clearly have a sense of humour, a sense of theatre, a passion for words and a passion for their businesses.
Just love it !

A Friendly Face and Great Coffee
The Gordon Park neighbourhood welcomes Carmela and her delightful - "hole in the wall" coffee spot - Silky Oak Espresso.
On the corner of Stafford Road and Richmond Streets and open from 6am this is a great addition to our fabulous range of cafes in the area. Tucked into an oversized "cupboard" on the side of "Cocoa and Cream " (the aptly named tanning and beauty salon) - this place is big on flavour and friendliness and small on fuss.
Providing fabulous Toby Estate Coffee - and a range of fresh daily locally baked muffins, donuts and biscuits. This is the no frills venture we all need on the way home from our morning walk or on the run to work.
